Billy Fury

An international British pop star of the late 1950's and early 1960's. Remained an active songwriter until the 1980's. Released his first single ''Maybe Tomorrow'' for Decca in 1959. Made his TV debut soon after. The Tornados became his backing group and from January 1962 to August 1963 they toured and recorded together. 1962 appeared in his first film ''Play It Cool''. 1963 he recorded one of the first live albums in Uk rock history ''We Want Billy''. After more UK hits, came a lengthy absence from the charts. Returned to rouring in 1981. A comeback album ''The One And Only'' was released posthumously.
