1960 George Harrison first played with The Beatles when they were a skiffle band called ''The Quarrymen''. Became a full member of The Beatles when he was 16. Musical apprentiship began with playing long hours in the Kaiserkeller in Hamburg. Often known as ''The Quiet Beatle'' he was playing with them at The Cavern Club in Liverpool when they were discovered by Brian Epstein who secured them a contract with EMI.
